Good product, very good price Sep 27, 2010
By B. Gruhn This product is just as I expected and hoped. It does bend in the wind and when very windy the flag does scrunch together at the top (have to re-adjust it every so often), but I have not found it to be in danger of breaking at all. It is compact when not in use and plenty long to waive your colors proudly. For those that are worried about it hitting your vehicle due to windy conditions, just go out and buy yourself some pipe wrap at a hardware store and put that on. It will cost you about $2 and you will never have to worry about it rubbing up against and scratching your car.

Great for music festivals and tailgating Jan 27, 2009
By Kimber
This is exactly what I was looking for so we could fly a flag while camping for a music festival. It is a nice height, and even with high winds it stayed put.
The only problem was the pole banged against the Jeep even with a small breeze, so I suggest a thick piece of foam or folded towel to keep the pole from scratching up the finish of your vehicle.

Survived the windy plains of Kansas Sep 03, 2008
By Cyclicpitcher Took this combo setup to an outdoor event in the plains of Kansas and the wind was constantly gusting up to 20 mph or better. Unit held up nice, had two flags on the pole, one US flag and one state flag. The flags were 2' x 3' each. (keep the flags smaller, they look higher in the air and less stress on the pole when flying two flags) Did not run the whole pole out, just raised each segment about half to 3/4 up and had a very strong pole that did not bend too much in the wind. The base is a must have, set the flat metal plate under the tire and roll forward a few inches and you have a very sturdy base that gave no issues. The plate is long enough that there is room to set the pole out so that even in heavy wind the pole will not touch the side of the vehicle. There are bigger and better systems out there but for the money, this is everything you need to fly your pride at your favorite events. I am very pleased with this product.

Pretty Surprised Sep 01, 2011
By The Chief I initially had some skepticism when I ordered this because it received marginal reviews. However, I've used it quite a few times, in varying conditions, and it performs well. I took it to the beach on Cape Hatteras when the wind was gusting 20+ mph and it didn't bend as much as I had suspected. As long as you dont plan on flying this in Tropical Storm conditions, you should be fine.
Two Warnings:
-Make sure your bring a towel or cloth to wrap around the part of the pole that will rub against the vehicle (and it probably will).
-The base plate will bend if it's not on a flat surface. For example, it bent just a little when the weight of my Bronco pushed the plate against the uneven sand. The bend isn't enough to effect it's performance, but just don't get poopy lipped when this happens.

Very Helpful Jul 04, 2007
By cajun_n_saudi Use the flagpole at Bonnaroo, helped me find my campsite many drunken nights. No more wandering around aimlessly, this pole is high enough to be seen from a ways away!
