I bought this mount to replace one just like it. This mount has a large wide base to keep the mount screws from being pulled out during windy days. I had to replace the old one because it was 8 years old, and the sun beating on it dried out the PVC it's made from. I buy stainless steel screws from the hardware store so they never rust and the rust doesn't run down and stain the post it's mounted on.

I've purchased metal brackets that broke within a year, so I decided to save myself some money and buy this plastic one. It has survived a 70MPh storm last week and has my vote in confidence.

I have bought flag pole brackets before and high winds always bend them our tear them up. This unit survived a blizzard.

The sturdy outdoor 2 position solid bracket with six mounting hole square base pictured as model #25082 is NOT what is delivered -- though model number is identical, the delivered bracket actually has two very thin, cheap open-gapped recepticles, with only three mounting holes on a small triangular base -- whole thing looks as if it would snap easily under even the most modest wind conditions. COMPLETELY FALSE ADVERTISING - the only reason I had bought this bracket was to replace a broken solid bracket I had searched weeks for.

I received my bracket today and noticed it did not match the picture on Amazon's site. I was hoping to replace the same bracket design in PVC I have now with a newer ABS one. The bracket received is extremely similar, if not the same, to the Valley Forge 2 Postion White Powder Coated Aluminum Bracket (sold at nearly 50% less).
