This item works good for small flags, but I have a large US Marine flag that I tried to put in it but it did not hold it very long, The weight of it bends the plastic and it slips out of its groves and falls to the ground.

total junk. do not waste you money. had to replace it within a week with a metal brackel that works great/.

This is junk and cheaply made.It will not stay in place no matter how much you tighten it and will not hold up even a small pole and small banner.

Since the Fourth of July is coming soon, I thought I'd write this interim review even though I haven't fully tested it yet. But I'm impressed with the construction of this device. It's extremely sturdy feeling, and the 'angle locking mechanism' ('tilt'), is a locking 'cog' arrangement (I think that's what it's called)...as opposed to a pressure plate. So it ISN'T likely to droop downwards due to the weight of a flag and pole. In other words the 'positioning device' LOCKS the pole in place at any number of 'cogs' along the wheel. So, I'm certain it will do well.
